Barry Brisk, Conductor Beach Cities Symphony Orchestra

Barry Brisk is In his nineteenth year as Music Director and Conductor of the Beach Cities Symphony Orchestra. Barry is also currently employed by the Los Angeles City School District, working in five elementary schools in the San Fernando Valley, teaching music. Barry plays viola with various groups and has been guest conductor with local orchestras.He began studying viola, piano and tuba as early as nine years of age and now teaches viola and piano. He has a diploma in conducting from the Vienna Academy of Music and has conducted orchestras, ballet and opera, such as the Vienna Symphony, Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Vienna Academy Ballet Orchestra, Tonkunstler Orchestra, Houston Symphony, Westside Symphony, Topanga Symphony, American Youth Symphony and at the Ojai Music Festival.He has published opera and book reviews, an article for Musical America and has lectured at Loyola Marymount University.
